Sessions: every 1st & 3rd Tuesday each month

Join the club!! This is the perfect opportunity to socialize and finish those hand stitching projects. You can bring in your hand appliqué, hand piecing, embroidery work or even hand binding (knitters and crocheters welcome). The club will have minimal dues. The main idea is to get together twice a month, work on completing a project while chatting with friends. There will be no formal instruction in these sessions.

Skill Level: Beginner

This is a series of FOUR sessions with fiber artist and pattern designer Debra Gabel. Debra will help you zero in on a topic for your own "art quilt". This quilt will be your concept, your research, your construction and your success. The first session focuses on concept and design layout. The second is a continuation of this process and color/fabric selection as well as pattern making. The last class will focus on finishing techniques, label art and design of the back of the quilt. This is your opportunity to be guided through the concept,design, construction and finishing of you own art. This class will be limited to 8 students. NO Prerequisite of drawing required. Basic sewing machine/quilting experience needed.

Patches Quilting and Sewing is embarking on another fun bus adventure, this time, to Hampton, VA.

We are planning a great day at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival XXI (Quilt Show). On the way, we can play a couple games and you may win prizes! On the way home we can just relax and watch a "how to" video or even play more games for prizes (I will let you decide).

"I'm so excited I can't stand it," your eyes will widen when you see it all-a showcase of over 500 beautiful quilts and garments for inspiration. There is a merchants' mall with lots of vendors with new products (even some demonstrations).

Ride in comfort on a chartered coach and leave the driving to us! Sign up now. There is limited space available.

Be at the Hampton Roads Convention Center bus stop at 3:45 (leaves at 4:00), we will stop for dinner, then back to Mount Airy around 10:00 p.m.
